It is an anointed team of professionals who successfully infiltrate and permeate the marketplace with powerful principles of God and motivate and inspire people to advance themselves, other people, and gospel ministry.
Marketplace Ministries is a group of Christian business people walking with God, living by faith, and infiltrating our society with the powerful principles of God (His word, His will, His way, and His anointing) to absolutely effect fundamental changes in our social and economic environment.
It is a group of entrepreneurs using established principles to initiate, create, mentor, and govern Christian businesses for the purpose of advancing the Kingdom-providing employment opportunities and resources to support gospel ministries.
Marketplace Ministries is a network of born-again, Christian business people joined together in the unity of the faith and the power of purpose to honor God in the marketplaces of America and around the world.
When we come to church (the “pulpit place”) we should come with certain expectations—it is a time to pray, sing praises, worship the Lord, and listen to the Word of God (meaningful sermons that apply to life). We are more likely to focus attention on God during church services than at any other time.
Our perspective may be that the sanctuary and the pulpit are the priority and a key to His presence. That is not wrong but we must be careful not to limit God to the sanctuary or the four walls of the church. It is important but it is not the only place we find His presence.
God is omnipresent—meaning he is present everywhere, even in the marketplace. Most of the ministry and the miracles of Jesus Christ took place outside of the typical church setting.
We don’t want to shift our hearts from the pulpit or divert attention from the importance of the church—we want to broaden our perspective to include God and His anointing in the marketplace (where we spend a good share of our time and life). Where do you spend the most time—in church or in business (the marketplace)? Unless you’re in full-time ministry, retired, or unemployed—the answer is the marketplace.
Jesus is Lord over our lives and every realm of life, if we will allow Him to be. We need to give Him preeminence in every realm of life!
We desperately need to give God first place in the marketplace!
Colossians 1:15-18
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
